The Court: Poll the jury, Mr. Clerk.

(The jury was polled and all jurors answered present.)

JOHN J. LAMB, sworn as a witness in behalf of the State:

Direct Examination by Mr. Wilentz:

Q. Captain, you are connected with the State Police in the capacity of a Captain, are you not? A. Yes, sir.

Q. And in that capacity was there presented to you by Mr. Kelly—is it—Exhibit S-32 for Identification, the ladder? A. Yes, sir.

Q. Now, when, to the best of your recollection? A. On June 1st, 1932.

Q. And have you had complete charge of that ladder since that time ? A. I have, yes, sir.

Q. Any exceptions? A. When it left my custody, it was given to a Mr. Koehler of the United States Forestry Department.

Q. Except for those times when Mr. Koehler of the United States Government had possession of that ladder, was it in your custody? A. It was, yes, sir.

Mr. Wilentz: That is all I have at this [471] time; just for the purpose of connecting the ladder as requested.

Mr. Reilly: Nothing at this time.
